What is DEMY?

The acronymn DEMY stands for Department of Education, Mission and Youth.
The Department is charged by Synod to administer the activities of Provincial life dealing with Education (content and training), Missions and Youth.
The Department shall be staffed as determined by the P.E.C. and headed by a Director with the following duties: To
(i) ensure that the general policy directives of the Board are implemented.
(ii) be the chief corresponding officer of the Board.
(iii) report quarterly to the Board on the activities of the Department.
(iv) submit the minutes of each Staff meeting to the P.E.C.
(v) coordinate the various activities of the Department.
(vi) report to the Provincial Synod on the activities of the Department.
Staff members shall:
(i) give attention to coordinating activities relating to youth, education and mission work across the Province.
(ii) be employed using regulations in chapters dealing with Ministry/Synod/ Pension.
The Board shall be appointed, according to the regulations, and have oversight of the Department and shall be accountable to Synod and the PEC for its actions and decisions.

To meet quarterly to take reports from the Director, Treasurer District and auxiliaries representative
To determine the policies and procedures of the DEMY
Give oversight to the function to sub-committees that may be established by the Board
To administer annual evaluation of the DEMY staff
